Rev. Dr. Christopher S. West
OUR SENIOR PASTOR
Rev. Dr. Christopher S. West is a native of Unadilla, Georgia, and the proud son of the late Deacon Davis Passmore and Ms. Dorothy West. He is the grandson of the late Dorothus West and Alice West, and the late Deacon Bobby Lee and Richie Mae (Candy) Passmore. He was educated in the Dooly County School System and gave his life to Christ at an early age. From the beginning, faithfulness and dedication defined his walk with the Lord. As a young man, he served in various roles within the church, developing a strong foundation in ministry.
In 1990, while still a high school senior, he accepted his divine calling to preach the gospel and was licensed to preach that same year. Recognizing the importance of growth and preparation, Dr. West joined the United States Army in 1990, serving honorably as a Personnel Specialist. In 1991, he furthered his education at Barton College, studying Human Resource Management.
Dr. West was ordained as a minister in 1999 and, in 2009, was called to pastor the Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church in his hometown of Unadilla. With a continued thirst for knowledge and a heart for God, he enrolled in Andersonville Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Theology in 2011 and a Doctor of Theology in 2012.
In August 2017, Dr. West was called to serve as the pastor of the historic Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia—recognized as the mother church of the International City. Dr. West considers it an honor to lead such a foundational and faithful congregation. He retired in early 2025 from service at Robins Air Force Base after 30 years of service.
At the heart of Dr. West’s ministry is a desire to see lives transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. His preaching and teaching are rooted in scripture, focused on inspiring believers to grow spiritually, love deeply, and serve faithfully. He draws inspiration from biblical leaders such as Moses and Paul, whose faith, leadership, and unwavering dedication reflect the path he walks as pastor and servant leader.
Dr. West reminds us often of Ephesians 5:1–2: "Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love..."

Ephesians 5:1–2 (NIV) says:
Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children
and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
This passage encourages believers to live lives that reflect the love, sacrifice, and holiness of Jesus. It calls us to imitate God—not in power, but in character—especially in how we love others.
Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church is a multigenerational church. There is something for you!
We believe the church is God’s people on God’s mission. Through ministries, we faithfully live in community as God’s people while living sent together on God’s mission.
